Photographic lookout
Casey just sighted a couple of labs coming our way about a hundred yards out, in this light. Whenever he insists on doing a 180 in the woods, I'm a believer.

Just one look, that's all it takes
One look from Casey usually says it all. Like now. "Hey, Democracy Now is over, you've had your second cup of coffee, and the sun is out...let's hit it!"
A must-share toon
Naturally, friends on Facebook just have to share Border Collie cartoons. This one has probably been around for awhile, but it's definitely worth sharing.

Down for the count
After torrential rains, howling winds, and an incredible comeback win by the Seattle Seahawks over the Green Bay Packers, everything just sort of caught up with Casey, all at once. Our guy is always a good sport, but way too much of an emotional roller-coaster for one day.
Who can blame him if he steals away with a cuddle friend to his favorite napping nook, under the dining room table, to recover. Tomorrow, his day, his way.

Still got it
Today, no rain, and Casey really needed to air it out with a Frisbee. The front yard just wouldn't do, so we headed out to the outfields of Civic Field.
After about 10 minutes of non-stop aerobics, with my accuracy hampered with the usual coat of slobber, we had to call it quits. No sense pushing the envelope, but I did manage to take a decent photo or two with a slippery smart phone.
The kid still makes it look easy.

On little cat's feet...sort of
Casey catching patrons' attention outside the Old Town Café |
Yesterday was unusually sunny and mild while we were hanging out in the Old Town District. But that was short lived.
Later we barely got through a walk on the interurban trail before a cool, eerie curtain of mist descended in the woods an hour before dusk, transforming our whereabouts into a setting out of a Bronte novel. I think Casey actually took a break from sniffing and exploring to notice the transformation.
10 minutes before this photo conditions were clear with visibility unlimited. |
