A late afternoon caffeine stop at Avellino’s, a favorite downtown Bellingham espresso haunt, is almost unavoidable on a day like today.

The catch is to steer clear of the éclairs, muffins, cookies, scones et al, another nearly unavoidable trick for many of the regulars.
