As the morning warmed up, a pair of Steller’s Jays were observed taking refuge in the shade of our Roma's. 
Supposedly not that unusual, but getting close enough to take pictures was unexpected.
They didn’t stick around though, and scolded us in no uncertain terms as they swooped away.
We haven't seen the last of these cantankerous vagabonds though - they'll be back soon enough.
