Subtle electioneering and a hardy fuchsia

Just a tiny plug (see front window) on election eve for Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate for President.

OK...that being said our hardy red fuchsia is still going strong, and should be a crimson standout until well into December, or at least until Bellingham low temperatures start dipping into the low 30s.

Believe it or not, hummingbirds are still sampling the nectar on the blooms of these rugged little perennials. The bees are long gone, but every now and then, like yesterday afternoon, a rufous will dart by on a touch-and-go sorte.
