Twilight on a swollen creek trek

Chasing daylight in the late afternoon is commonplace along the trails near Whatcom Falls and the creek bank seems like it could be terribly unforgiving of any kind of lost footing.

So Casey did some leash time anywhere near the rain swollen creek. Just way too fearless off trail for my comfort level. If only he wasn't constantly in overdrive during his recons of this new route.
He seemed to be OK with it though and even had no objections to heading back to the trailhead and home sooner than normal. Of course it was getting pretty close to dinnertime...he's no fool.

On the way back we came across a photo shoot - more than likely for a high school year book - with the Falls as a backdrop, and the window of opportunity fading fast at twilight. Imaginative - and probably expensive. A far cry from our mandatory Stone Age versions.
