Samish Lake on a day like today seemed ideal for an easy afternoon hike, too easy and not quite as ideal as we planned.
After finishing up our excursion back at the trailhead, our natural, sometimes fearless, Border Collie trail-blazer got a little careless.
Now what are the chances our guy had never run across lily pads before?
As it turned out, the odds were pretty good after all. And how exactly was he supposed to know it wasn't solid footing.
He really is a quick study though, just a little wet behind the ears.
