A wildlife sanctuary diversion in the South Sound

Vashon Island to the SW from Dumas Bay

We took time today to walk down to the beach at Dumas Bay Park Wildlife Sanctuary in Federal Way, and with any luck, find a decent blackberry cache to harvest. Well, forget about the berrys, but the scenery...not too shabby.

With the calm seas at sunset, Casey couldn't get enough of the unique South Puget Sound terrain and shoreline denizens.

And speaking of denizens, Vic and Ernelyn coming into sight means we're heading back.

No photo ops of herons or bald eagles to brag about, but a perfect way to start a Labor Day weekend in our old "digs".
