Urban funk?

Couldn't resist posting this, from the corner of Bay and Holly Streets. This supposed "Gateway to the Bellingham Arts District" has been our favorite eyesores since last fall, and in the words of the artist, walks that "fine line between funky and chic."

It hasn't been much of a draw for us, but today we pulled over to get upclose and personal and you know what, The Sentinel actually rips through the fine line between funky and crap.

It's our 20 foot pillar of crap though, and who knows, it might grow on somebody - not us - but somebody...someday.

Let's hope it doesn't spark a Bellingham movement of industrial chic.
